Grand Folk Railroad brings on the fun with an eclectic/eccentric mix of folk-rock-flavored, flower-powered forgotten favorites, 60's pop gems, one hit wonders, and the inspiring songwriting of lead singer Susan Schwartz-Christian.

With a make-every-note-count approach to performing, a vast eclectic repertoire, questionable regard for folk music traditions and a variety of instruments including acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, melodica, ukuele, upright, electric and Ashbory (rubber stringed) bass, and a one-of-a-kind suitcase drum kit, Grand Folk Railroad blurs the lines between pop, rock, folk and singer/songwriter genres.

CHECK OUR GIG LIST AGAIN SOON... NEW DATES ARE BEING ADDED ALL THE TIME!

July 31  PORT PALOOZA! HARBORFRONT PARK, PORT WASHINGTON, NY

Port Washington is one of our favorite places to play - it may just be the beautiful harbor or the sounds of the ferry horn (usually during one of our quiet numbers!). This is going to be an incredible afternoon of music, with lots of great bands. More info to follow about when we'll be on.

August 16  FARMINGDALE LIBRARY, Farmingdale, NY

We are sooo excited to be back at Farmingdale Library! This time we'll be playing outdoors on what we know will be a beautiful evening. Don't forget to bring a chair, and of course, if you know the words, sing along with us. It's all good!

July 12  JUST WILD ABOUT HARRY, EISENHOWER PARK

GFR has long been part of this yearly concert honoring Harry Chapin and his legacy of feeding the hungry on Long Island. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy listening to Harry's songs performed by some of Long Island's best talent. And don't forget to bring some non-perishable food items to donate to The Harry Chapin Food Bank.

September 4-5   BRADSTOCK, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, Center Moriches, NY

Every year the Bradstock folks hold the most incredible 2-day festival. Proceeds from the weekend go to the camp. Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a summer camp for kids with disabilities, so what could be nicer than to play music and hang out with our friends for a great cause! GFR is on the Acoustic Stage at 4PM-ish on Saturday the 4th. Now in it's 28th year, come join us for 2 days of peace and love.
